Additional NIDA-related events open to media include a reception and screening of the HBO Emmy Award winning documentary, "Addiction," which was produced in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, NIDA, and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA); and a student conversation at Walnut Hills High School where NIDA Director Dr. Volkow will engage students in a practical discussion on drug abuse and addiction.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse is a component of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NIDA supports most of the world's research on the health aspects of drug abuse and addiction. The Institute carries out a large variety of programs to ensure the rapid dissemination of research information to inform policy and improve practice.
